Home Away From Home

There’s a spot on Jenkins Avenue, right across from the University of Oklahoma campus, that holds a big place in my heart. It’s on the second floor and it’s the middle door on the right. The room that you will find is bright with color and filled with enticing aromas. This is my home away from home.

As a tourism destination, it’s all about location and comfort. My room is good for both. The location is perfect for anyone visiting the university or someone who attends the university. It is located a street away from campus corner, which is made up of places to eat, shop and enjoy a nice sunny day. It is convenient for university events and is also located right in the middle of the action on game days, if you enjoy Sooner football. And for people who enjoy a good night out on the town every once in a while, most of the restaurants stay open late as bars for people to dance and hangout at.

After a long day at a football game or roaming around campus, it is nice to come home to a comfortable environment. My room is made up of a big bed with a cloud-like pillow top and my candle collection will not disappoint. Light shades of blues and purples make up the colors of my room, and I think it gives it a relaxing, but fun feeling. This describes my personality in a lot of different ways.

When visiting a place that is not your home, it is nice to feel comfortable and at ease. I have made a “home away from home” destination that could help tourists enjoy their stay. It holds many memories and I will cherish every one of them when it is my time to part ways with my room on Jenkins Avenue. I can only hope that anyone who visited would feel the same way while leaving.
