Three Kings Festival in Puerto Rico

Songs being sung aloud, hands clapping, friendly greetings, festive clothing, and the warm Puerto Rican sun beaming down on sun kissed skin. These are all things commonly seen while at the Three Kings festival, held in the town of Juana Diaz. People travel near and far to gather grass to leave in a shoebox for the three kings to bring gifts to the local children. On the morning of the parade, participants arrive in traditional attire, including beautiful skirts, hats, and ready to celebrate the legacy the Three Kings continue to leave behind. After the photos have been taken, the hymns have been sang, and the parade has concluded, the crowd disperses to the various venders and food truck all in walking distance.
Enjoy a freshly made Piña Colada to combat the hot heat, or feast on Tostones and Empanadas made right before your eyes. With rows and rows of tent-covered vendors, there is sure to be something to purchase for a souvenir for a friend, or a trinket to keep for yourself. These items can rang from handmade bracelets and dolls to grand paintings all for an unbeatable price.
The celebration does not stop here, however. At different times throughout the entire night, people attending the festival have the opportunity to attend Mass, take pictures with the parade participants, eat and fellowship with each other with a plate of joy, and a side of laughter. Although the Three Kings are celebrated for weeks, the parade is held on January 6, and is sure to be a more than memorable experience for all who attend!
